This year we are again adopting the national Black History Month theme, which is ‘Standing Firm in Power and Pride’. In today’s world, stories are powerful tools that shape how we understand our past, present, and future, and this year’s theme is a powerful tribute to the strength, resilience and unwavering commitment to progress that defines the Black community globally. The aim of the evening this year will be to honour generations of resilience, cultural strength and identity.
As a valued member of the Twyford Community, it would be an honour to have your presence on this auspicious occasion, to celebrate and embrace a culture that has had such an influence on the British way of life. This year the proceeds are going to The Ealing charity ‘Descendants’ https://www.descendants.org.uk/. Descendants is an award-winning, West London-based Children's charity established in Acton in 1993. Now marking 32 years of service, Descendants Charity continues to thrive as a beacon of cultural education and community support fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of African and Caribbean heritage. The organisation remains dedicated to education, creativity and inclusivity, inspiring generations of children to explore their heritage and embrace their cultural identities with pride.
