This year we are again adopting the national Black History Month theme, which is ‘Honouring our Communities’. In today’s world, stories are powerful tools that shape how we understand our past, present, and future, and this year’s theme is a powerful tribute to the strength, resilience and unwavering commitment to their local communities that defines the Black community globally. The aim of the evening this year will be to honour generations of resilience, cultural strength and identity. As a valued member of the Twyford community, we are delighted to invite you to celebrate and embrace a culture that has had such an influence on the British way of life with us.
As usual, the proceeds are going to The Ealing charity ‘Descendants’ https://www.descendants.org.uk/. Descendants is an award-winning, West London-based Children's charity established in Acton in 1993.
Descendants Charity has been a beacon of cultural education and community support fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of African and Caribbean heritage in Acton for over 30 years. The organisation remains dedicated to education, creativity and inclusivity, inspiring generations of children to explore their heritage and embrace their cultural identities with pride.
