Earlier this year the Y13 Music Technology class explored the audio visual installations at 180 The Strand, an exhibition put on by the Vinyl Factory to explore the delicate relationship between the visual and auditory arts. Highlights included the immaculately designed Hi-Fi Listening Room, where students tuned into the analogue, handcrafted audiophile system- we had to drag Remy, Isaiah and Krrish from their seats at the end as they refused to leave! Other highlights were the experimental vinyl locked grooves and the playground of turntables. Juan Carlos was particularly taken by the Virgil Abloh speaker sculpture, and Malachi by the history of rave music documentary. The students had a great time and some of them even returned to the exhibition independently the following week to soak up some more sounds. Thanks to all students for making it a pleasurable experience.
