The film department took its our annual trip to the British Film Institute to learn about documentary making. We were lucky enough to be treated to a ful screening of ‘Amy’ followed by a lecture on the film detailing documentary theory. This was then rounded off by a Q&A session with the director Asif Kapadia. A truly unique and enlightening experience.
This February saw Thomas Langridge, a former Year 13 student, strut to the debut of his animation at the British Film Institute. ‘The Landlord’s Inspection’ was Thomas’ coursework piece for A level Film studies and it was applauded by the exam board then. He was up against stiff competition and a panel of experts from across the film world. Twyford is extraordinarily proud that he left the day with TWO awards: the ‘Best Animation’ and the ‘Student Jury Award’. Thomas spent a happy afternoon on the South Bank with fellow finalists and networking for his bright future in animation. It’s fantastic to see Twyford alumni being so successful.
