On Tuesday 14th April, sixth form Twyford students were given an insight into studying Natural Sciences at Nottingham University by attending a talk on ocean acidification. Dr Villa Marcos explained the relationship between increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, the pH of the world’s oceans and the devastating effect on marine life. She emphasized the need for an interdisciplinary approach to solve this problem, involving chemistry, biology, geology and earth science.
