We couldn't be prouder of Twyford CofE High School alumni Kirsty Cooper.

Kirsty has been called to the Bar at the Inner Temple which is an extraordinary achievement. Here she tells us about her journey.

Kirsty attended Twyford from 2013-2020. She studied Law at the University of Nottingham and then took some time out to travel. During this time she applied for the Bar Course at the Inns of Court College of Advocacy and her Bar Course scholarship from the Inner temple. There are four inns of Court that provide scholarships and you can apply to one of them. Kirsty was awarded a full scholarship and started her Bar course in January 2025.

She completed her bar course in January 2026 and was called to the Bar at the Inner Temple in July 2026. This included having to attend 10 qualifying sessions with the Inn alongside studies. She tells us that her time at Twyford enabled her to achieve this goal due to  support she had from teachers and most notably the Grays Inn Mock trial she was a part of in Year 12! This allowed Kirsty to participate in a mock trial in the Old Bailey and made her realise this was the career she wanted to pursue.

Congratulations Kirsty, and good luck at the Bar!
