On Wednesday 7th January, the Sixth Form welcomed James Roberts, CEO and co-founder of the innovative Medical Technology company mOm to speak about his journey from developing a prototype of neo-natal incubators to bringing these into hospitals. James impressed on students how good ideas always start with a real-life problem. In his case, he realised that traditional incubators were extremely heavy, not cost effective and unsuitable in challenging situations globally. He demonstrated his company’s new lightweight, collapsible incubator to students, explaining the process of prototype improvement and clinical trials to get to the product they have today, which has already been used in the UK, Ukraine and beyond.
