On 29 April, Twyford CofE High School hosted the Royal Society of Chemistry Analyst Competition, welcoming 60 Year 12 students from six schools across Ealing, including all three sixth forms within the Trust.

Teams competed to solve a murder mystery by completing a series of analytical chemistry challenges, including calculating the mass of caffeine in a cup of coffee. Students worked intensively over a four‑hour period and will now submit their findings to the Royal Society of Chemistry. The winners will be announced shortly and hopefully our winners will be invited to the national championship.

All students were fantastic throughout the competition, demonstrating enthusiasm, perseverance and strong scientific thinking. With a group of students like this, the future of science is very bright indeed!
