At the beginning of November, Year 12s from both the Twyford Senior History Scholars and William Perkin’s Humanities Scholars attended the annual Sixth Form conference at SOAS, organised by the Royal Society of Asian Affairs.  Students attended five lectures on a wide range of topics, and this year these included water conflicts in Asia presented by an international lawyer, security in the Middle East presented by a diplomat, and gender discrimination in India presented by a charity founder.

The day also included language taster sessions in Mandarin and Arabic delivered by the SOAS lecturers.  The idea of the day is to expose students to a number of different people with different careers, showing how humanities subjects studied at university might lead on to working in or with Asia.
